An open-world MMO based around NFTs
Blankos Block Party is a large-scale, multiplayer role-playing game featuring user-generated content. The free-to-play game allows players to go on quests, play mini-games, and generally explore the game's open world. The distinguishing factor of Blankos Block Party is that each character is an NFT and uniquely owned.
The base game is similar in scope to things like Roblox and Core, in which users can create their own experiences and others can play them. Blankos Block Party features a cartoonish style that could be said to fall somewhere in between the styles of Roblox and Core.
A user-generated adventure game
While the developers provide a substantial amount of content for players to experience, it is possible for the players to make their own content to add to the game, which other players can then experience as well. The type of game content also differs in the genre, as different types of games can be made based on the creator's taste.
Massively multiplayer
Blankos Block Party runs on a persistently online open world. That means players will be playing online with other players, even if they intend to play the game alone. This makes it a very social game, with the ability to set up parties being part of the gameplay experience. It also means it cannot be played without an internet connection.
A heavy focus on collectibles
There is plenty of content for players to experience. Still, many players have complained that there is too much focus on collectibles rather than the game content. Those same players also noted that collecting Blankos (“Blankos” is the name of the collectible character models) can quickly become very expensive.
